A short, low-pressure conversation to understand your concerns and see whether a nervous-system-focused assessment may be appropriate.

A starting point

Is This the Right Place to Start?

This page is for parents who are looking for clarity — not pressure.
It may be a helpful place to start if your child is struggling with behaviour, emotional regulation, sensory overwhelm, sleep, development, or simply doesn’t seem to be adapting as well as expected.
You don’t need to know exactly what’s going on.
That’s what the first step is for.

What brings parents here

You may be noticing patterns that are hard to explain

Many of the families we work with arrive after months — sometimes years — of trying to understand what’s going on for their child.

"Let's just wait and see."

Words many parents have heard — and felt uneasy about.

Waiting isn’t always the wrong answer. But it doesn’t always feel right when it’s your child. If that resonates, you’re in the right place.

Our lens

The nervous system plays an important role in how children adapt and respond to their environment.

Rather than focusing on symptoms in isolation, we start by asking a different question: How is the nervous system adapting?
Your child’s nervous system plays an important role in how they process stress, regulate emotions, respond to their environment, and develop over time. When it’s under sustained stress — whether from birth, illness, sensory input, or accumulated stresses — that sustained tension can show up in ways that are difficult to categorise.
Our role is to help you understand what may be contributing — before making any recommendations about what, if anything, comes next.

How we work

A clear, unhurried process

Everything begins with understanding. Here is exactly what the process looks like.

1. Initial consultation – Visit one

We take the time to listen — to your concerns, your child’s story, their development, and what you’ve been noticing. This isn’t a rushed intake form. It’s a real conversation looking for the patterns that may be contributing to what you’ve been noticing.

2. Neurological INSiGHT scans – Visit one

Safe, non-invasive scans that help us better understand how your child’s nervous system may be functioning, using an incredible technology called the INSiGHT Scans — not just what you can see on the surface.

3. Care Plan – Visit two

Is figuring out an exact, customised Care Plan that fits your child’s exact needs. The PX Care Plan Builder blends your child’s severity, duration of challenges, genetics and lifestyle, along with the INSiGHT Scan findings to help guide recommendations that are tailored to your child's individual presentation.

4. Report of Findings – Visit two

Is sitting down together, going over the INSiGHT Scan and exam findings, your child’s personalised care plan, and answering every single one of your questions. This is such an exciting visit for families, gain clarity about what may be happening and what next steps may be appropriate.

5. Adjustments – Neurologically-focused chiropractic care begins

Gentle, specific adjustments aimed at strengthening and supporting healthy nervous system function, regulation and adaptability, while looking deeper than merely symptoms.

The scans

Understanding the INSiGHT neurological scans

Safe, non-invasive, and designed to be gentle and comfortable for children.

Used to gather objective information — giving us a clearer picture of how your child’s nervous system may be functioning before any recommendations are made.

NEUROTHERMAL SCAN
Autonomic nervous system regulation

Help us identify the regional effects of subluxation and dysautonomia, in order to better understand how well your child’s autonomic nervous system coordinates and regulates organ function like digestion, adrenals, immunity, and hormones etc.

NEUROSPINAL EMG SCAN
Neuromuscular tone, organisation and energy output

Crucial for those with energy output challenges (e.g. sensory & spectrum processing, anxiety, low energy) or poor posture. Neuromuscular tone significantly impacts posture, brain function, and development. EMG tension patterns and imbalance in the nervous system almost certainly indicate stuck in sympathetic (fight or flight) mode.

HEART RATE VARIABILITY (HRV)
Adaptability and resilience

Provides a broader picture of neurological health, revealing whether the autonomic nervous system is healthy, balanced, and fully charged or stressed, imbalanced, and worn out. ie struggling to adapt, regulate, and respond to everyday stressors and situations, including emotional, immune or physical challenges.

Getting started

The initial two-visit process

Before any care recommendations are made, we begin with two visits. This is designed to give you clarity — not commitment.

Visit one

Consultation, Examination & Scans

  • Detailed case history
  • Neurological examination
  • INSiGHT scans (thermal, EMG, HRV)
  • Time to understand your child's patterns

Visit two

Report of Findings

  • Scan results explained clearly
  • What the findings may mean
  • Whether care may be appropriate
  • What next steps could look like

Initial two-visit process

$147

Includes both Visits, all Scans, and your Report of Findings.

There is no pressure to begin care after these visits. The purpose is to help you understand your child’s nervous system more clearly and make an informed decision — whatever that looks like for your family.

Behaviour & emotional regulation

Big emotions, meltdowns, difficulty settling, or challenges with transitions.

Sensory processing

Sleep challenges

Difficulty falling asleep, night waking, trouble settling, or waking unrefreshed.

"When You're Not Sure What's Going On"

For parents who can’t quite name it, but feel their child is not coping, adapting, or thriving the way they should be.

Parent resources

The following PXDocs resources are a good starting point for understanding the nervous system approach and how some families explore nervous-system-focused approaches.

Educational note: These resources are provided for general education only. They are not a diagnosis, treatment recommendation, or guarantee of outcomes. Any care decisions for your child require an individual consultation and assessment.

Your next step

Ready to Take the Next Step?

You don’t need to have everything figured out.
The first step is simply a conversation — a chance to share what you’ve been noticing, ask questions, and see whether this approach may be appropriate for your child.
